The College of Fine and Applied Arts is excited to announce that Hannah Bennett has joined the college as the new Director of Development, starting her role on October 9. Hannah has been an integral part of the Advancement Division at Appalachian State University since 2023, where she served as the Leadership Annual Gifts Officer for the Hayes School of Music and Arts Engagement and Cultural Resources. Her outstanding ability to cultivate meaningful relationships and enhance leadership annual gifts programs has already made a significant impact. Before this, she excelled as the Administrative and Development Specialist for Arts Engagement.
An Appalachian State alumna, Hannah graduated magna cum laude in 2021 with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociocultural Anthropology, minoring in Sustainable Development and Experiential, Integrative Learning. Her background and dedication to our university's values suit her to advancing the College of Fine and Applied Art's development efforts.
Acting Dean James Douthit shares his enthusiasm, stating, "I am excited to welcome Hannah to this new role. The College of Fine and Applied Arts has many opportunities for a development officer. I look forward to introducing Hannah to our departmental leadership and fostering connections between Hannah and our chairs. Having worked with Hannah in the Hayes School of Music, I am confident she will provide the same meaningful connections and relationships that link our generous benefactors with the opportunities to support the exciting and engaging work ongoing in the College of Fine and Applied Arts."
Hannah is eager to embrace this new chapter, saying, "I'm thrilled to join the College of Fine & Applied Arts and look forward to connecting and reconnecting stakeholders and alumni to areas of passion while creating opportunities for our students, faculty, and staff. As an Appalachian alumna, I look forward to serving the university in this capacity, and collaborating with the Dean's Office on fundraising initiatives."
