As she prepares to graduate from Appalachian State University, Arianna Bennett leaves behind a legacy defined by creativity, leadership, and an unwavering commitment to telling meaningful stories. A double major in Electronic Media/Broadcasting and Public Relations, with a minor in Dance, Arianna has woven together a uniquely interdisciplinary college experience—one that reflects both her artistic passions and her drive to communicate with purpose.
Arianna’s impact is felt across the Department of Communication and beyond. Within AppTV, she has taken on two major leadership roles: Producer for Pixel Peak, the station’s long-running video game show, and Social Media Director, where she has helped shape the station’s digital presence and audience engagement. Her work behind the scenes has strengthened AppTV’s programming while giving her hands-on experience in content creation, team coordination, and multimedia strategy.
Her storytelling extends into documentary work as well. Through Second Story Media, Arianna spent four semesters collaborating with real clients and producing professional-level content. One of her most meaningful projects was a documentary created for F.A.R.M. Café, a Boone nonprofit dedicated to food security and community support. The experience deepened her understanding of how media can amplify local voices and drive positive change.
Arianna’s involvement doesn’t stop there. She has been an active member of the Appalachian Popular Programming Society (APPS), serving on all six councils within the organization—a rare accomplishment that speaks to her versatility and dedication to campus life. She also currently serves as the Marketing Intern for the Office of Arts and Cultural Engagement, where she supports campus arts programming through promotional strategy and creative outreach.
Reflecting on her time at App State, Arianna credits the Department of Communication for shaping her into a confident, capable media professional.
“Appalachian State’s Department of Communication has helped me in numerous ways—from real-world experiences working with clients through Second Story Media to becoming a leader within our student-run television station AppTV. I have been able to apply the skills that I’ve learned in my classes not only in the clubs I’ve joined but also the internships that I’ve had throughout my college career.”

She adds that the opportunities she embraced across campus helped her grow as a communicator and creator.
“I’ve learned how to become a better writer, become familiar with a camera, and have honed down my video editing skills. I have come out of my college experience with projects that I am more than proud to show off in my portfolio to future employers. I am also incredibly thankful to all my professors who always encouraged me and helped get me to where I am today.”
Arianna’s journey at App State is a testament to what happens when talent meets initiative. She sought out every opportunity—whether in the studio, the editing room, the classroom, or the community—and transformed each one into a stepping stone toward her future career. As she graduates, she carries with her a robust portfolio, a network of mentors and collaborators, and the confidence that comes from years of hands-on experience.
The College of Fine and Applied Arts celebrates Arianna’s achievements and looks forward to seeing where her creativity, leadership, and passion for storytelling take her next.
