Join Us Oct. 5 For Open House at the Farm

Want to have some fresh pressed apple cider, and check out the amazing work being done at the Appalachian State University Sustainable Development Teaching and Research Farm? Join us for our annual Open House on Saturday, Oct. 5 between 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. at the Blackburn Vannoy Estate in Fleetwood

The day will allow you to experience a working Appalachian farm, including:

  • Self-guided tours
  • Plant medicine making demonstration
  • Open fire cooking
  • Cider pressing from apples grown on the farm 
  • and more!

Directions to 608 Water Tank Road Fleetwood NC 28626

Take US 421-S from Boone (toward Wilkesboro) for approx.10 miles
Take exit ramp for US 221-N towards W. Jefferson.
Go approx. 6 miles then turn right on Watertank Road (first road on right after the Fleetwood Vol. Fire Dept.)
Go approx. 0.3 miles then turn right on the first gravel driveway (with 4 mailboxes) Go straight up the driveway to the farm.
