At its core, "She Kills Monsters" follows the story of Agnes, a young woman grappling with the unexpected loss of her teenage sister, Tilly. Searching for a way to reconnect with her sibling, Agnes steps into Tilly's vibrant world of Dungeons & Dragons. Instead of merely playing the game, Agnes becomes immersed in a fantastical realm filled with homicidal fairies, ogres, and 90s pop culture references. Along the way, she discovers Tilly's hidden depths while grappling with her own grief. This production is presented by special arrangement with Concord Theatricals.

"She Kills Monsters" pairs action-packed fantasy with heartfelt storytelling," says Dr. Marty. "At its heart is the story of a young woman trying to overcome her grief for her sister, using imagination, storytelling, and fantasy as a way to heal. It's funny, exciting, and ultimately very moving."

Dr. Marty adds, "This production has been a collaborative effort. Many cast and creative team members have a deep appreciation and love for D&D, which has enhanced the show's authenticity. Together, we've woven their passion into one cohesive, energetic experience for the audience."

The incredible fight choreography, featuring over a dozen dynamic combat sequences, was crafted by associate professor Derek Gagnier, who embraced the complexities of designing action for a fantastical world.
