The HOW Space interior was completely redesigned and renovated by 16 students enrolled in the 2016-17 Integrative Design Experience Laboratory (IDEXlab). The interdisciplinary IDEXlab is a rigorous, 18-credit course spanning two semesters. Students taking the course come from a variety of programs, including sustainable technology, interior design, building sciences and business. Under the guidance of two faculty members and two graduate assistants, these students managed all aspects of the project, including sponsorship procurement, lighting and interior design, demolition and construction and more.
